Man - User's Manual
Let us not let silly stereotypes and cultural clichés confuse us and hide the perhaps inconvenient truth from us. The more mysterious and fragile of the two genders is not the woman but the man. Men’s hearts are much bigger than those of women and greater are also their passions, desires, expectations and – logically – frustrations. Their anxiety can cause the space in Finnish cottages to shrink and in the absence of any worthy foes they are able to find the most formidable ones in themselves. Men’s world is woven from a material of a rich amoebic colour and toughness that approximates the free-flowing form of exotic woods. It’s not always easy not to get lost in it and many of us could likely use at least a basic course in its structures and functional elements. The nine stories included in this programme hardly make up one, but they might perhaps provide at least a few lectures.
