13th PRAGUE SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
On January 17th to 21st 2018, Prague’s Světozor and Pilotů cinemas hosted the 13th Prague Short Films Festival, organized by the management team of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The festival showed more than 100 of the best and most interesting short films from 30 countries in 16 sections.
This year, the international competition featured 20 films from 16 countries. The three members of the international jury, which awarded the Grand Prix with a 2 000 EURO bonus, were Maria Drandaki (producer, Greece), Martin Kaňuch (festival programmer, Slovakia), Olmo Omerzu (director , Slovenia). The jury awarded the Grand Prix to a Japanese film And So We Put Goldfish In the Pool. Special Jury Mention awards goes to films Long Live the Emperor and second Special Jury Mention goes to film Partner. The Audience Award goes to Downside Up.
The Grand Prize for the Best Czech Short Film, which includes a prize of 2,000 euros, goes to Atlantis, 2003. The Jury awarded its Special Mention to Bo Hai.The jury consisted of the British director Daniel Mulloy, Daniel Bergmann, the producer and founder of Stink Films and the Polish script doctor Monika Franczak.
Program
International Competition Jury
The jury will award the Grand Prix for the Best Film of International Competition which includes a prize money of 2 thousand euros, and may award two Special Jury Mention awards as well.
National Competition Jury
The National Competition Jury will award the Grand Prize for the Best Czech Short Film which includes a prize of 2 thousand euros, and may award the Special Jury Mention award as well.
