International Competition 2
Competition number two includes a representative of weird Greek films and one of last year’s festival favourites – Copa-Loca, a film that tightly knits together melancholy, sex and goofiness. A girl’s world, summer, chilly water, and one friendship are the centrepieces of the Croatian film Into the Blue. The New Zealand film The World in Your Window tells a tender story about the power of children who sometimes have to take matters in their own hands, and the Polish winner of one of the awards of the Cannes International Critic’s Week The Best Fireworks Ever will take us on a provocative journey through a peculiar dystopian world that’s different from ours perhaps only in that events there have already developed further than they have here. Last but not least, you’ll see the French comedy No Drowning that tells the story of an encounter between a diver and a stripper in a mermaid costume in a world that works like a coin-operated machine.
