National Competition

Czech short films have had their place in the festival programme since its establishment in 2005. But this year, filmmakers were for the first time given the opportunity to enter their films produced in 2017 in a brand new national competition. The competition will feature a total of five student films: four films produced or co-produced by the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and one film made in a Czech-American co-production. The jury will award the Grand Prize for the Best Czech Short Film which includes a prize of 2 thousand euros, and may award the Special Jury Mention award as well.
