Monia Chokri

Monia Chokri is a Canadian screenwriter and actress known, among other things, from Xavier Dolan’s films Heartbeats and Laurence Anyways. She made her directing debut with the remarkable short film An Extraordinary Person (2013), which earned numerous international awards. Her feature film debut La Femme de mon frère premiered in 2019 in competition as part of Un certain regard at the Cannes film festival.
