A Day in the Life of Beijing

The famous ancient city alleys of Beijing’s Hutong are disappearing to make way to the 2008 Olympic Games. Thousands are being relocated to high rise apartments. After most of his patients and neighbors leave, Lin Juan, a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, finally decides to give up and leave his hometown.

Ben Suzuki

Ben Suzuki (1965, Tokyo) is a self-taught filmmaker, who started his career as a producer of music videos and TV commercials. In 2001, he became a freelance commercial director, working on projects including Midnight Eagle (2003), winner of the Nihon Eiga Angel Award. A Day in the Life of Beijing Hutong is his first short film.
