Pearl
A long time ago, the entire world was home to a watery kingdom ruled by the Fish King. He had a magic Pearl that formed the source of his power. The people wanted to rob the Fish King of this power, but only those who believed in its magic and could overcome their fear of the dark could gaze into the glow of the magic Pearl in the watery depths. A short film about how people who believe in fairy tales have nothing to fear.

Jakub Kouřil
Artist and director Jakub Kouřil is a graduate of the Department of Animation at FAMU. During his studies, he shot the short film M.O. (2012). This film about an old woman who orders a mail-order mechanical man earned numerous international awards and was a finalist for the student Oscar. In 2013, he premiered his animated short Little Cousteau. Both films won the Magnesia Award for best student film. Jakub is currently working as an advertising director, is busy with the original animated children’s series The Little Odyssey, and is putting together the feature-length live-action film The African Room.
