Ismaël Joffroy Chandoutis
Ismaël Joffroy Chandoutis is a French director and film editor. He graduated from INSAS (Belgium) in editing, from Sint-Lukas Art School (Belgium) in filmmaking and from Fresnoy (France). Ismaël explores a cinema beyond the boundaries of genres. His films question memory, virtual reality, technology and the intermediate spaces between worlds and words. He earned a reputation as a filmmaker with his film Dark Waves (2018), which was screened at a number of international festivals, including IDFA and Clermont-Ferrand, and which won several awards. His latest short, Swatted (2018), was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the 2019 Clermont-Ferrand ISFF.
