When You Hear the Bells
In Afghanistan, the "batchas" are young males who live under the protection of a master of the house and to dance dressed in girls’ attire for the enjoyment of men's audience. Saman is a bacha. For now, he has been taken care of. But now his master brought a new boy into the house, and Saman is supposed to teach him to dance.

Chabname Zariab
Chabname Zariab was born in Afghanistan, but her family moved to France when she was 7. In 2008 she is noticed as the Ile de France winner of a young screenwriter challenge organized by the Cannes Film festival. Later, she directed a documentary Je passe (public prize at the One Country One Film Festival). Her first novel, The Afghan Pianist won the special jury prize at the Salon du premier Roman de Draveil. Au bruit des clochettes is her first fiction short.
