Michel Gondry (b. 1963, France) as child he wanted to be a painter and inventor. He developed his artistic talent in the 80s at an art school in Paris where he started pop band Oui Oui with his friends. Before they split in 1992, they recorded two albums and Gondry, their drummer, made several music videos. Björk was so impressed by the videos she hired him to make one for her song Human Behavior. The video won almost every possible award and launched the career of one of the world’s most famous directors of music videos and commercials. In 1998, Gondry made the short film La lettre, which he followed up in 2001 with the feature Human Nature, based on a script by Charlie Kaufman. Their next film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, brought Kaufman an Oscar for best script. In 2006, Gondry wrote and directed La Science des reves. He is now finishing his latest film, Be Kind Rewind.
