Kanya
A coming-of-age drama about an adolescent girl growing up between Western and traditional cultures and their different value systems. Her aspirations of becoming a competitive swimmer take an unexpected turn when she gets her first period.

Apoorva Satish
Apoorva Satish was born and raised in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, India. Apoorva recently received her MFA degree from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts, Czech Republic. In 2016, she was selected to attend the International Filmmaking Academy in Bologna. Her graduation film Kanya (2020) had its world premiere at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. Apoorva is currently based in Prague, where she is developing her debut feature film. Her primary goal is to explore personal stories around socially relevant contemporary ideas and themes.
