Jakub Jirásek

Jakub Jirásek was born October 27, 1993 in Prague. He grew up in Écublens, Switzerland. At the age of 10, he moved back to Prague where his family was originally from. During his high school years he started recording lo-fi indie folk songs under the nickname of “J” which gained him quite a good recognition among the Czech alternative scene as well as internatonal music blogs. After graduating from high school, he enrolled for the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Being a third culture kid, his major topic became the phenomenon of home and everything related to it - moving, travelling, settling down, etc. I’m So Tired of Being Alone is his graduate movie. Jakub Jirásek also directed a few commercials and music videos, for instance jingles for Světozor cinema, which were awarded by Mediar.cz as the 2nd best commercial campaign in the Czech Republic in 2016.
