Philippe David Gagné
Philippe David Gagné holds an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree in cinema. Since the release of his first documentary SUR LA GLACE (2005), his films have won many awards and have screened around the world. Philippe David has been awarded numerous grants from the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), and, since 2008 has directed television reports and documentaries filmed across Canada for both Télé-Québec and TV5. His documentary web series PICK-UP : À LA RENCONTRE D’UN BOUT DU MONDE (2011), co-directed with Jean-Marc E. Roy, won a Gémeaux award, and COWBOY: UN REVE CANADIEN (2013) earned a Gémeaux nomination. His most recent short film, BLEU TONNERRE (2015) had the great honour of being featured at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival Directors’ Fortnight. His co-directed film CRÈME DE MENTHE with Jean-Marc E. Roy was selected for the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes Film Festival 2017.
