Peacock
“To become the first truly realistic playwright, he had to feel what it is to be the last romantic.” That may be the description of the early years of Czech theatre classic, Ladislav Stroupežnický. A comedy in three acts parodies the clichés of TV staged documentaries and creates its own idea of the famous playwright and the first artistic director of the National Theatre, (un)covered in the history and literature textbooks. Or in the words of the filmmakers, it’s got it all: suspense, humor, violence, hope, emotions, nudity, sex and of course, a happy ending.
