Safe

A woman working as a cashier at an illegal gambling parlor pushes her luck by stealing money from gamblers as a way to pay off her own debts. When one gambler realizes he’s been cheated, he returns and the already dismal situation spirals out of control. The first Korean film to win the Palme d’Or for Best Short at the Cannes film festival in 2013.

Byoung-Gon Moon

Byoung-gon Moon (b. 1983, Korea) graduated in 2011 from Chung-Ang University Film school. His graduation film Finis Operis (2011) was selected for La Semaine de la Critique du Festival de Cannes. His short film Safe won the Palme d’Or for Best Short in Cannes in 2013. Now he is developing his feature film scenario.
