Whale Valley

Two brothers living with their parents on a lone farm on a distant Icelandic fjord. The elder is trying to escape the emptiness of life there. The younger is trying to save him.

Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson

Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson (b. Iceland, 1982) has a Fine Arts Degree from the Icelandic Art Academy and studied screenwriting in Denmark. He now works as a film maker and a part time teacher in screenwriting, directing and video art. Whale Valley is his second short film after graduation and it was awarded the Special Jury Mention at the festival in Cannes in 2013.
