The Radiant City

After scientists discover cigarette smoke as a great and sustainable source of energy, all of humanity, urged on by governments, takes up smoking. Lucie, allergic to smoke, is one of the few non-smokers left. When she falls in love with a professional smoker from the world's largest smoking firm, she seeks help, so she too can smoke and fit in.

Romain Raynaldy

Romain Raynaldy (1974, France) joined the Agence France Presse (AFP) press agency for four years after graduating in history and journalism. At 29 he decided to take a break to study screenwriting at the French National School of Cinema. He returned to AFP in 2007 after graduating and now divides his time between journalism, directing and screenwriting. The Radiant City (2007) is his second film.
