Scars We Love

Long Night with Short Film

Gaspard is still very much in love with Leïla. They meet in a crowded bar a month after she left him. The conversation turns awry and, as he feels tears welling up, Gaspard seeks refuge under the tablecloth, away from prying eyes and closer to his memories.

Raphaël Jouzeau

Raphaël Jouzeau is an illustrator-director. He graduated from L'École supérieure des arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg and the Atelier Supérieur d’Animation in 2019. That same year, he participated in the short film collection En Sortant de l’école, for which he adapted a poem by Verlaine: Ô triste, triste était mon âme. He tells stories that straddle the border between reality and dreams, tales of ghostly memories and love with a Strokesian melancholy. He likes to “tinker” with his images, superimposing video animation and textures of all kinds, forcing accidents and experiencing the surprise of discovering new images.
