Balconies showcases the peculiarities and endearing quirks of everyday life in a high-rise building by offering a glimpse into the balconies of its residents. Set to the rhythm of the sounds made by the inhabitants, we experience a day in their lives; the music drives the narrative forward until the sun sets.

Xenia Smirnov
Xenia Smirnov was born in Kazakhstan and grew up in Georgia and Russia. She studied animation in Saint Petersburg. Shortly before graduation, she moved to Germany and began to study animation at the Konrad Wolf Film University in Potsdam-Babelsberg. She currently lives in Berlin, where she works as a freelance animator.
