Andrea Szelesová
Andrea Szelesová is a Slovak director and animator. She animated her first film, Malady (2014), while at the Václav Hollar School of Fine Art and later continued her studies at FAMU, where she created Mon Ami (2019), the animated documentary 19 20 18 (2018), and the stop-motion short Afternoon Tea (2019). Her graduation film Sisters (2021) premiered at Annecy 2021, was screened at more than sixty festivals in thirty countries (BIAF, Clermont ISFF, OIAF), and won thirteen international awards, including Best Slovak Animated Short at Fest Anča. As an animator, she has also worked on Michaela Pavlátováʼs feature film My Sunny Maad (2021) and on the television series Čtyřlístek (2024) and Rychlé šípy (2025).
