Twelve-year-old Vilja loves wrestling even though she is terrified of pain and loses every match. When her parents separate, Vilja’s feelings freeze. Then the daughter of her mother’s new boyfriend, Thea, turns out to be the star of the wrestling club. Can Vilja overcome her fear of physical as well as emotional pain?

Marianne Ulrichsen

Director and screenwriter Marianne Ulrichsen was born in Bodø and grew up in the Lofoten archipelago. Her short film Warrior Heart had its world premiere at the Tromsø International Film Festival 2024 and was recently named best short film at the Kristiansand Children’s Film Festival. Her feature film debut currently in development with the working title Wrestling Heart has received development support from the Norwegian Film Institute’s NEO program.
