Arshia Shakiba

Arshia Shakiba graduated from the Toronto Film School with a degree in digital film production. He started his career creating music videos for Iranian underground rock bands before transitioning to documentaries, directing and filming the short documentaries The Guests (2018) and Who Loves the Sun (2024). He is currently working with the National Film Board of Canada on his first feature-length documentary, Sleepless. As a cinematographer, Shakiba’s work with Nicolas Canniccioni on ROJEK (2022) earned him the Best Cinematography Award at the Mirage Film Festival in Norway, which was presented to them by cinematographer Roger Deakins.
