Sarah Slavíčková
After graduating from DAMU’s Department of Theory and Criticism, Sarah Slavíčková went on to study for a bachelor’s degree at FAMU’s Department of Directing. Her “freshman” film The Beginning of Spring (2023) was shortlisted for the Aramis Award at FAMUFEST. In 2024, she received support from Czech Television’s Film Accelerator program for her second film, My Homeland. She is currently working on her bachelor film, Jesus on the Cross, which is loosely based on her previous film. In her work, she systematically explores rural characters, working with non-actors, real stories, and the genre of satirical comedy, with a particular focus on young viewers and audiences from northern Bohemia.
