In this personal essay, the director talks about how the Iranian Revolution and the turbulent times that ensued, affecting her and her family. Using archival footage, excerpts from the news, and family photos, she narrates her personal story, first from the point of view of a girl living in a world of fairy-tale heroes, then gradually shifting to the perspective of an adult able to interpret these complex events.

Pegah Ahangarani

Pegah Ahangarani is an Iranian actress, film director, and musician. She has directed seven documentaries and acted in more than forty feature films. Her movies have been shown at many festivals, including the Berlinale, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Venice Film Festival. She has also received numerous awards from various festivals, including Best Actress at the Cairo Film Festival and Locarno Film Festival and Best Director at the Cinema Verité International Film Festival.
