Francesco Montagner
Francesco Montagner was born in Italy. He studied documentary film directing at FAMU in Prague. His debut film, Animata resistenza (2014), which he co-directed, co-wrote, and produced, won the Venice Classics Award for Best Documentary at the 71st Venice Film Festival. His second award-winning feature documentary, Brotherhood (2021), premiered at the 74th Locarno Film Festival, where it won the Golden Leopard – Filmmakers of the Present award. It also earned the Best Czech Documentary and Best Cinematography awards at the 25th Ji.hlava Documentary Film Festival.
