The Criminals
In the middle of the night, a young couple Emre and Nazli are looking for a room to make love. They are rejected from the hotels where they show up because they do not have a marriage certificate. While they think they have found a trick, the situation gets out of hand.

Serhat Karaaslan
Serhat Karaaslan was born in Varto, Turkey (Kurdistan). He studied the master’s program for Directors of Film & Drama at Kadir Has University, Istanbul. He has made several short films, which have won awards and screened at major film festivals including Toronto, Locarno and Karlovy Vary. His first feature, Passed by Censor (2019), was selected for the Cannes Cinéfondation Residence. It made its international premiere at the 54th Karlovy Vary Film Festival, where it recevied the Best Film prize from the Federation of Film Critics of Europe and the Mediterranean (FEDEORA). The Criminals (2020) is his latest short.
