On the North Yorkshire moors, head gamekeeper Abel discovers the thing that is eating his grouse. His blunt and violent response brings the menace back home, shattering his already crumbling relationship with his wife.

Sophie Mair, Dan Gitsham

Writer/directors Sophie Mair and Dan Gitsham are partners in life and film, and have been creatively collaborating since 2007. Their work has been screened at more than 150 film festivals worldwide. Past films include the countryside thriller Ella (2011) and the horror project Keeper (2014). Their latest short, The Thing That Ate the Birds (2021), received funding from the BFI Network. They are now in development with a feature entitled Ginger.
