The Karman Line

A mother is hit by a rare condition and begins to rise gradually into the air. An ambitious short starring three-time BAFTA winner and Sundance Special Jury Prize winner Olivia Colman (Tyrannosaur, Hot Fuzz, Peep Show, Iron Lady) and Shaun Dooley (Eden Lake, Misfits), shot by Robbie Ryan (Fish Tank) and directed by Oscar Sharp.  The film was funded by the BFI & Virgin Media and was produced by Fortune Films.

Oscar Sharp

Oscar is a multi-award-winning filmmaker. He has received both the biggest short film prizes in Britain, and been awarded others by the likes of Joss Whedon, Guillermo del Toro and Sir Alan Parker.Awarded a Fulbright award for US study, he was accepted to AFI Conservatory, Columbia and NYU Tisch. He chose Tisch; alma mater of Scorsese and Ang Lee, where he has studied under Darren Aronofsky, Todd Solondz and Spike Lee. In support of his studies, he was also awarded BAFTA LA's top scholarship.His 2010 short film Sign Language was the winner of the prestigious Virgin Media Shorts award. The film became known as the most profitable short of all time after earning 17000% of its £236 budget in prize money. Applauded for its structure, central performance, and emotional engagement in under five minutes, it screened in 200 cinemas nationwide, was selected for top festivals including Aspen and Palm Springs, was promoted as exemplary British filmmaking by the British Council, and named among The Best Of YouTube by YouTube.
