Les Bosquets

Les Bosquets is an original ballet performance inspired by the riots in the outskirts of Paris. The story of the film brings viewers into the debris of a French ghetto and talks to them through state-of-the-art choreography. The dancers recreate social upheavals on the backdrop of music composed by Hans Zimmer, Pharell Williams and Woodkid. Powerful images meet with the strength of the protests and show how the desire to exist may overcome uncertainties of life and create beauty in unexpected places.

JR

JR is a visual artist showing his masterpieces freely in the streets around the world. His creations, often critical, is usually linked to the lives and culture of socially excluded areas and ghettos. In 2006, he showed a series of large scale portraits of a ghetto in Paris in the upscale parts of the city, naming the series Portrait of a Generation. Les Bosquets draws from the same inspiration.
