Dearth of a Salesman

In this black and white one-man show one of the best comedians of all time, Peter Sellers, plays the role of Hector Dimwittie, a salesman whose only wish is to become the most successful sales person in the whole of Great Britain. However, when what you offer are toiletries or magnetophones this is not an easy task! From the very first to the very last minutes of this short comedy Sellers shows his outstanding skills that remained unnoticed for a long time. Nobody had seen the film for 50 years until it was discovered by chance in 1997 in the Park Lane Films studio building. A digitally remastered copy of the picture, where one of the roles is played by the daughter of director William Wyler, Judy, premiered this May at a film festival in Southend-on-Sea, England.
