Main award for Best Film International Competition goes to film Filipiñana
This year’s International Competition featured 37 films from 29 countries. The members jury, which presented the award for Best Film International Competition and a 3,000-euro reward, consisted of Louise Højgaard Johansen, Pavel Sladký and Ondřej Provazník.
Main award for Best Film International Competition goes to film Filipiñana directed by Rafael Manuel. The jury appreciated the 24 minutes film with the words: “This film astonished us with its subversive humor and the director’s ability to create his own cinematic world and bring forth smart commentary on today’s personal and societal struggles. The film’s power lies predominantly in its images and tableaux, and since the main character is a newcomer to this different world of the powerful class, her sheer presence exposes its absurdities. The film is a bold and beautifully crafted work of art and we are eager to see Rafael Manuel’s upcoming projects!”
Congratulations!
