Pragueshorts for Kids and Best of Brutal Relax Show to be Screened Regionally and in Slovakia!
Prague Short Films Festival has two special programs to be screened within the regions of the Czech Republic this year. Pragueshorts for Kids, focused on young film fans, is designed for children between 5 and 8 years of age. We will show animated and live action short films from all over Europe: Armenia, France, Germany or Italy, for example. Both the children and their parents will learn how flexible can giraffes be, that a tiny blue tapir can be a great friend or what does it look like in a country where wind blows non-stop. And for boys, we have a football film from Portugal. Czech cinema is represented by the Little Cousteau, an adventure by Jakub Kouřil.
If you love horrors and short films that go against all expectations and conventions through unique form or shocking and incorrect content, we have something for you as well. Best of Brutal Relax Show is a collection of the best films from the four years of our Brutal Relax program. So, watch out and don’t lose your eye like little Olin did in the Irish horror story How Olin Lost His Eye. Another harsh fate awaits an unfaithful husband who dared to do some hanky panky with a client in his butcher’s – as a punishment, he is most likely to end up in hamburgers, as we learn in a Cuban film Cebú. The main hero of Happy B-Day is up for a surprise during his routine morning run in the forest and it is not going to be a surprise party, that is for sure. And you can enjoy not only those, but also eleven more brutalicious films that cannot be further from idyllic fairytales.
Pragueshorts for Kids and Best of Brutal Relax Show will be screened in 12 cinemas not only in the Czech Republic (Brno – cinema Scala, Ústí nad Labem – cinema Hraničář, Jablonec – cinema Junior, Hradec Králové – cinema Central, Karlovy Vary – cinema Čas, Mariánské Lázně – cinema Slavia), but also in Slovakia (Bratislava – cinema Lumiére, cinema Foajé, Kremnica – cinema Akropola, Prešov – cinema Pocity, Košice – Tabačka Kulturfabrik, Trenčín –Artkino Metro). The screenings will take place at the same time as the festival itself, 22nd and 23rd January 2016. For more information go to the cinema websites!
