My Name Is Yu Ming

This is the story of Yu Ming, who dreams of leaving behind his dull life as a grocery store clerk in China. One day he spins the globe and his finger lands on Ireland. When he finds the official language is Irish Gaelic, he learns it and heads for what he hopes will be a better future.

Daniel O´Hara

Daniel O’Hara has worked as a freelance television director. Yu Ming Is Ainm Dom (2003) is his first short film and has won 18 awards at festivals around the world including the Best Irish Language Production. In 2005 Daniel also directed the award-winning Fluent Dysphasia, starring Stephen Rea.
