The Mass of Men

Richard, an unemployed 55-year-old, arrives 3 minutes late for his appointment at a job centre. An advisor, stifled by the limits of the system she works in, has no choice but to penalise him for his tardiness. To avoid plunging further into destitution, Richard takes desperate measures.

Gabriel Gauchet

Gabriel Gauchet (1978, Francie) after graduating from African studies in Hamburg, Dakar and Cologne he went on with art and film studies at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne to graduate from the National Film and Television School in London. His short films were screened at dozer of festivals and were hugely awarded. His film Mwansa the Great (2011) was nominated for BAFTA and his The Mass of Men got, among other awards, the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival. He has recently finished another short film, Z1.
