Tornike Bziava

Tornike Bziava (b. 1980, Georgia) is a third generation film director and actor. Tornike first attended acting classes at the University of Theatre and Film of Georgia in 2001. In 2003 he graduated in directing and made three award-winning experimental films. In 2004, he enrolled in the Tisch School of the Arts, New York and worked on various short film projects there. Moved back to Europe in 2005, and the Fulbright Scholarship he received allowed him to study at the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing in Warsaw. His short film April Chill (Aprilis Suskhi, 2009) was awarded at the 2010 Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. The Nest has been screened at more than 40 festivals and also received many awards. At present Tornike is working on his feature debut.
