Toyland

Germany 1942: to protect her son Marianne Meißner makes him believe that the Jewish neighbours are going on a trip to Toyland. One morning her son disappears and so do the Jewish neighbours. Toyland is the winner of 2009 Oscar for best scripted short film.

Jochen Alexander Freydank

Jochen Alexander Freydank (1967, DDR) directed fringe theater, commercials and short films. He started his film career as first assistant director and editor before becoming a screenwriter for TV and film. He now works as a producer of a TV series and is preparing to direct his first feature film. Toyland is his fourth short film.
